Just as Starbucks shutters hundreds of stores Blue Bottle expands…newest store coming to the SF Ferry Building.
An optimistic (though perhaps not predictive) sign: Union Square in SF is packed with shoppers today. Though I can’t vouch for their taste.

SIlver lining dept: If we go into a real depression, I’m thinking it would a good time to go on a scientific expedition to Antarctica.
And now I’m wondering how much Amoeba Records will pay me for all my used CDs. That’s my Black Friday project (to pay for a Mac Mini)
I know it’s a Chinese curse to live in interesting times, but it is a riveting experience to live through this period. I wouldn’t trade it.
